‘ We cannot say how much we love this place, it is authentic, rustic, full of charm, well kept and well maintained. Being there is like a relaxing breathe of fresh air. The views are fantastic, its a quiet, peaceful and largely undicscovered valley. There is a fantastic bread shop in the local village of Bellevaux, my children enjoyed the bike ride there each morning. Head north and within half an hour you reach the shores of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) for wonderful swimming opporuntities. Head South East and you can access Chamonix valley and associated mountains. Plus there is mountain biking in nearby Les Gets. There is also some excellent local Via Ferrata’s and climbing opporutnities within 5 mins drive. Amazing running and cycling from the door and the picturesque Lac du Vallon is on the doorstep. A great base for any family or anyone interested in the outdoor lifestyle . We have not visited in winter but understand it is a wonderful undiscovered opportunity and can’t wait to return soon.’

Guest Reviews

I visited La Ferme d’Enfer in August 2019. I flew to Geneva airport and transferred to Chamonix. The transfer couldn’t have been easier and the views of the mountains during the drive were fantastic. After a brief stay in Chamonix I then drove to Bellevaux; the drive was civilised, scenic and easy.

I stayed at the chalet for one week and it was aboslutely ideal for peace and quiet, stunning scenary and the relaxation I so badly needed. The views from the bedrooms were incredible, so wonderfully restfull. The house overall was spotlessly clean, homely, comfortable, spacious and gorgeous Alpine wood throughout.

Getting around from this location was easy. We visited Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) on hot days and swam in the clean, still waters and also taking walks in the forest around the house.

All in all it was a perfect location for deep relaxation, breath taking views and homely comfort. I would definitely visit again.

Earlier this year, my teenage daughters and I along with two of their friends, stayed at Tanya’s wonderful house for a long skiing weekend.

Set in a beautiful part of the world, Tanya’s character-filled house was so warm and cosy with an amazing fire place that once lit, heated the whole house.

A fantastic storage room which held all our ski gear was a total blessing – meaning our equipment was dry and warm each day ready for use.

Beautiful views, very homely and spacious… making an ideal holiday home.

The house is set in a stunning location offering a calm, comfortable and natural escape from life. The mountainous views allow you to ‘feel’ part of the Haute Savoie, inviting you into areas less trodden.
Bellevaux, the local town set down the valley, has all you need from a local patisserie, bars and a small convenient shop.
Tanya is an amazing and passionate host. With her vast experience of living and working in the local and regional area, Tanya was able to provide us with all the up-to-date information we needed from recommendations on less busy ski slopes to peaceful snow shoe trails, from how to access local Via Ferreta routes and adventurous outdoor activities for the whole family.
